Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
- Mix warm water and yeast in small bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Combine flour, sugar, and salt in large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil, mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough on floured surface 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover with damp cloth, let rise 1 hour.
Cook the Filling:
- Brown ground beef/sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, cook 5 minutes. Set aside.
Assemble the Pizza Pie:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll dough into large circle, press into greased deep baking/springform pan. Trim excess.
- Layer: mozzarella, meat filling, mushrooms, peppers. Repeat layers as desired.
- Top with extra cheese and toppings.
Bake:
- Bake 25-30 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbles.
- Cool slightly before slicing.
Serve warm with salad or garlic bread.
