Even if everything seems to be working, turn it off. Water can cause a short circuit at any time. Don’t touch anything else, and especially don’t frantically press buttons!

Remove removable items
If your phone allows it, remove the case, SIM card, SD card, and battery (if removable). Gently dab the visible components with a clean, dry cloth. There’s no need to disassemble the insides with a screwdriver—doing so may void your warranty.
The rice trick: still relevant today

Once the phone is turned off and the components removed, place it in a sealed freezer bag half-filled with uncooked rice. The rice acts as a natural dehumidifier, gradually absorbing the moisture trapped inside the device.
Leave the bag in a dry place at room temperature for 48 hours. Yes, two full days. This can really save your phone. After that time, reassemble the parts, gently turn it back on… and cross your fingers.
