Upside-Down Banana Cake

Instructions:

Prepare the pan: Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle sugar over the bananas.

Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk together egg, milk, salt, and vanilla extract.

Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.

Mix wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour batter: Pour batter over the banana layer in the prepared pan.

Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Invert and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto a serving plate and serve warm.
