🌿🌞 UK Households Warned: Do Not Dry Clothes Outside This Spring

With the arrival of spring, the days are getting longer, and the warmth that follows a chilly winter is finally here. 🌸 However, this refreshing weather also marks the beginning of hay fever season, typically starting in late March.

🍃 Beware of Pollen This Spring

According to the Met Office, the tree pollen season has already begun, meaning that those sensitive to it may have started experiencing some unwelcome symptoms. 😷 The national weather service has reported that birch pollen could be particularly abundant this year due to the conditions during last spring and summer.

🌡️ Pollen Seasons and Record-High Temperatures

The UK experienced its warmest meteorological spring and May on record since 1884. With high temperatures at the end of June, conditions were ideal for pollen production.

Following the tree pollen season, grass pollen season takes over from mid-May to July, followed by weed pollen season from around June to September. This means that the timing of hay fever symptoms will vary depending on the type of pollen you are allergic to.
