Target is dealing with increasing theft and organized retail crime. They will close nine stores in four states.
Even though they increased security staff, hired outside guards, and used tools to prevent theft, the problems with crime continued. Here are the markets that were impacted, along with the number of stores and employment information that is still available.
New York City:
Harlem: 517 East 117th Street. There are 96 stores left and more than 20,000 team members.
Seattle:
University Way: 4535 University Way NE Simplified: University Way: 4535 University Way NE
Ballard: 1448 NW Market St., Suite 100. (22 stores left, almost 4,000 team members)
San Francisco and Oakland:
