Cook the Filling:

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.

Add butter, onion, and cabbage to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender and the onion is translucent.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Casserole:

Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Unroll one package of crescent rolls and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Spread the ground beef mixture over the crescent roll layer.

Top with grated mozzarella cheese.

Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and place it over the cheese, sealing the edges.

Bake the Casserole:

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Serve:

Let the casserole cool slightly before cutting and serving. Enjoy hot!
