Funnel Cake Bites
You guys, these mini funnel cakes are about to become your new favorite treat! I’m so excited to share this recipe that brings all the joy of carnival funnel cakes right to your kitchen. These bite-sized beauties are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and showered with plenty of powdered sugar – just like the ones from the fair!

Every time I make these, the amazing smell of fried dough takes me right back to summer carnivals and festivals. The best part? You only need simple pantry ingredients to create these little bites of happiness at home.
What You’ll Need
Ready to make some funnel cake magic? Here’s your shopping list:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cups milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Let’s Make Some Funnel Cake Bites!
- First, get those eggs nice and foamy – beat them until they’re light and fluffy. Then pour in your milk and vanilla, giving everything a good stir.
- In another bowl, mix your dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and sugar. Pour your wet ingredients into the dry and stir until you’ve got a smooth batter.
- Here’s where it gets fun! Heat about ¾ inch of oil in a heavy pot or deep skillet to 375°F. I like using my cookie scoop to drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil – it makes the perfect bite-sized portions!
- Let them fry until golden brown on each side (about 1-2 minutes per side). Once they’re done, drain them on paper towels and while they’re still warm, give them a generous dusting of powdered sugar.
