  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box, such as eggs, oil, and water)
  • 8 oz can crushed pineapple (with juice)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for pineapple mixture)

  • 8 oz package cream cheese , softened
  • ½ cup butter , softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

→ For Topping:

  • 3 cups crushed pecans

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cake

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the white cake mix box.
  2. Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box and pour it into your desired cake pan (9×13-inch pan works well for this recipe).
  3. Bake the cake according to package directions. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.
  4. Once the cake has cooled, use the end of a wooden spoon or a similar utensil to poke holes evenly across the surface of the cake. These holes will allow the pineapple mixture to seep in.
