Braised Oxtails Recipe

Directions:

  1. Season oxtails with salt and pepper. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add oxtails and sear until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  2. In the same pot, add onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. Return oxtails to the pot. Add beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, and thyme. Bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

  5. Add carrots and celery in the last 30 minutes of cooking.

  6. Remove bay leaves before serving. Serve oxtails with the vegetable and broth mixture.
