Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
2. Cook the Chicken
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Sauté the Vegetables
In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Add the chopped onion and cook for 2 minutes until softened.
Stir in the mushrooms and cook for another 3–4 minutes until they release their juices and start to brown.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Combine & Simmer
Return the cooked chicken to the pan.
Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and water. Stir everything together.
Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the chicken and mushrooms.
5. Serve & Enjoy
Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds.
This dish combines the earthy richness of mushrooms with the bold kick of black pepper and savory sauces, making it a standout addition to your dinner rotation.
