Banish Flies, Mosquitoes, and Cockroaches with These Simple Natural Remedies
Tired of unwanted bugs invading your home? You’re not alone—and the good news is, you don’t need to rely on harsh chemical sprays to get rid of them. With just a few everyday ingredients, you can create effective, natural solutions to repel and trap mosquitoes, flies, and cockroaches. These DIY methods are safe, affordable, and surprisingly powerful.
Homemade Mosquito Lure
What You’ll Need:
5 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup hot water
1 packet of dry yeast
1 empty 2-liter plastic bottle
Steps:
Stir sugar and baking powder into hot water until completely dissolved.
Add yeast to the mixture and let it sit until it starts to bubble—this means the yeast is activating.
Cut the plastic bottle about one-third from the top.
Pour the mixture into the bottom portion of the bottle.
Flip the top of the bottle upside down and fit it into the bottom, forming a funnel.
Place your trap near windows, doorways, or areas where mosquitoes are active.
Why It Works:
Yeast releases carbon dioxide, mimicking human breath. Mosquitoes are drawn in by this gas but can’t escape once inside the trap.
