Baked Hot Dogs in the Oven

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion until translucent.

  2. Build the Sauce: Add black pepper, paprika, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, water, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.

  3. Prepare the Hot Dogs: Using a sharp knife, cut 3‑inch slits into each hot dog, spacing them evenly along its length. Arrange the hot dogs, slit‑side up, in a single layer within a baking pan.

  4. Bake & Baste: Pour the boiling sauce over the hot dogs, ensuring each is well coated. Place the pan in a preheated 350 °F (175 °C) oven and bake for 25 minutes, basting occasionally with the pan juices.

  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and transfer to serving plates. Spoon any remaining sauce over the top and enjoy!
