During a recent visit to my lover’s house, I encountered something that truly left me confused—and a bit terrified. Everything was going great until nature called. I headed to the bathroom, expecting the usual, but what I found was far from ordinary.
As I lifted the toilet lid, I was greeted by something that looked more like a medieval torture device than a toilet bowl. Sharp, black plastic spikes arranged in neat rows sat directly over the drain area, held in place by two bars. My first thought? Is this a trap?
It looked like something that would hurt me more than help me. I stood there for a while, staring at it, trying to understand if it was part of some extreme cleaning mechanism or maybe just an artistic prank. Either way, I didn’t dare use it.
After a bit of research and asking around, I found out that these strange-looking spikes are actually designed to prevent blockages and keep large items from being flushed accidentally. They’re also used in public restrooms or homes with pets to avoid objects falling in. Some even say they prevent rats from climbing up through the plumbing.
