Chinese Beef and Onion Stir-Fry

Ingredients
- 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Marinate Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar. Set aside.
- Sauté Onions: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add onions and stir-fry until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Cook Beef: Add remaining oil. Stir-fry the marinated beef until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, stir-fry 1 minute.
- Combine and Serve: Return onions to pan, add sauce, and stir for 2 minutes. Serve hot over rice and garnish with green onions.
