Swiss Mushroom Melt Delight
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt & black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
- 2 tbsp mayo or garlic aioli
- 1 tbsp oil (for grilling)
Construction:
- Sauté the mushrooms – Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and turn golden brown. Set aside.
- Prepare the beef patty – Mix ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Shape into patties slightly larger than the bread. Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through.
- Assemble the sandwich – Spread mayo or garlic aioli on each bread slice. Place Swiss cheese on both slices, then layer with the beef patty and sautéed mushrooms.
- Grill to perfection – Heat a skillet, add oil, and grill the sandwich until the bread is crispy and golden brown. Flip carefully to toast both sides evenly.
- Serve and enjoy – Slice in half and indulge in the melty, savory goodness.
