Whisk Together:
Mix the baking soda and coconut oil in a small dish. Bring the ingredients to a paste-like consistency by mixing them together. Be careful not to heat the coconut oil to a point where it melts if it is solid.
Combine the Ingredients:
To apply the mixture to your teeth, use either your fingertip or a toothbrush. Apply it evenly to each tooth you want whiter. To minimize cross-contamination with conventional toothpaste, it’s a good idea to use a separate toothbrush for this purpose.
Take a three-minute break:
For around three minutes, let the mixture rest on your teeth. The baking soda will softly remove surface stains and the coconut oil will kill any microbes that may be present during this time.
Give it a Good Rinse:
When the timer goes off, remove the mixture from your mouth by rinsing it with water. If you would rather not use alcohol-based mouthwash, you may alternatively give your teeth a short rinse.
Repetition: This therapy works best when applied once or twice weekly. Too much baking soda may wear down enamel, so it’s best to use it sparingly.
