Kidney stones, also known as renal calculi, occur when minerals in urine are deposited in the kidneys, bladder, ureters, etc., forming solid crystals ranging in size from a few mm to a few cm. Kidney stones are a fairly common disease in Vietnam, occurring in all ages, with the elderly accounting for the highest proportion.

Kidney stones are not actually a very dangerous disease, but when there are many and large stones, they can cause some serious consequences such as: Back pain, lower rib pain, stones will block the urethra, causing the patient to have painful urination. The patient may urinate blood, frequent urination. Some cases may have urinary tract infections.
